Planet America at the End of October.

A breeze. A baller's breeze.

I'm Sitting on a Self Drive Bike.

Was, I mean. I felt like October cruised through me. I didn't experience a single thing the whole month. Every week started on Saturday, then Sunday would happen to me, and suddenly it would be Thursday, and back to square one. Honestly, I don't remember a thing. Planet October is non-existent.

Everything's on Standby.

One day—when I have a life again—I will settle in and watch that Zoe Saldaña limited series on Netflix. Their caszh, but not so caszh media machine conglomerate is working that paycheck. I'll be watching some random person's stories and here come Zoe's employees again. The CMM; as in the Casual Media Machine. The red pill to Top Gun's marketing blue pill.

Really though, I don't seem to have time for all these releases any more. I will maybe(?) be listening to Rihanna's song in two months. The same goes for you, Sza, and everyone else whose movies and projects are plastered on the front page of different platforms. I'm too tired and cannot fathom new experiences at the moment—unless it's travel. I will keep recycling the same familiar stuff for as long as possible until my brain is primed for newer sensations.

I told you I'm lazy before.

It seems October coasted by because I had no life. Cool beans.

On That Note: I Have Repented.

Last month, I gave my public ranking(?) of the 7th studio album by Beyoncé, Renaissance.

Side note: I'm very impressed by my ability to finger-count all Beyoncé albums with no assistance to accurately figure this number out. Talk about stanning.)

Time has passed, and I must confess, it took me quite a bit to actually listen to Renaissance—as in, about a month and some change—in the first place. Obviously, my journey with it is lagging slightly behind everyone else's. There were reasons that are much too grand to fit into this tiny October space. As time passed, my digestion of the album matured.

Before we get to the updated ranking, I want to apologize to the commenter from last month's Planet America that took small offense to my previous ranking(?). You were semi-right; I warned that it wasn't in any order, and I had a list of like 500 songs in one position, anyway. Still, I'm sorry. Today, I repent.

It is—again, in no particular order (mostly):

  1. "HEATED"

  2. "AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM"

  3. ALL THE OTHER SONGS STARTING WITH "MOVE"

  4. THE VISUALS WHEN THEY'RE RELEASED—THAT IS OBVIOUSLY ACT II.

That's all folks. Catch me next month when "COZY" gets the respect that one man in my life obviously believes I'm not giving it.

Just Kidding, Still Here. I Found My Kin.

I mean, since clearly nothing else happened to me this past month, we'll stay on music—the only evolution I ever maintain.

I made a peculiar observation: girl in red, the artist, is living a parallel existence to myself. I was going through the titles of some of her popular tracks because I tend to have her songs mixed in playlists in the background. Lo and behold: these titles? bitch, same! Look at this shit:

"October Passed Me By"—obvi.

"Summer Depression"—We spoke about this. Honestly, just search summer in Jeanne or Jimmy. I have had nothing kind to say. I searched myself, I was surprised.

"we fell in love in october"—👀...😏

"i need to be alone."—Always, every time. My favorite way to be.

Girl, give us a ring. (Like the British ring. Phone call. I'm not asking for her hand in marriage. She's not even British)

By the way, I also looked up her birthday—because I was curious for many obvious reasons—she was born in February. Welp.

Good Things Will Come.

The last couple of months have been unnerving, and I know I've been saying that for a while, but it's my reality.

I'm typically not a subscriber to popular affirmations, but I feel as though the idea that after a hard time, good starts to pour in makes complete sense.

You more consciously recognize your smaller wins, as they're a relief and a sense of hope. You also become a little more resilient and adjusted mostly because you're forced to—if you're wise.

I believe that from now on, there will be small and big wins and much more hope, and I'm grateful for it.

Goodbye. Actually, this time. Can't wait for the next Planet America.
